UUCSV’s 2017 Auction – Information

 

 

Check In:                 

  • Sunday, April 2 – Saturday, April 22
    • Bid numbers are pre-assigned and posted on the narthex wall next to the nursery.
  • Saturday, April 22
    • Check in at the registration table.
    • Pick up your bid card for live auction.
    • Return you bid card at the end of the evening.

 

Food & Drink

 

BBQ – Saturday, April 22, 5:00-6:00pm

  • A family affair! Extra time to browse and bid on silent auctions!
  • Come enjoy Bob Haskins home-smoked BBQ pork, vegetarian beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and cornbread.
  • A donation of $15 for adults; no charge for children.

 

Dessert Bar – Saturday, April 22, 6:30pm – close

  • Nibble at the dessert bar while you bid on your “must have” items in the live auction.

 

Beverages

  • A variety of non-alcoholic beverages will be available during the BBQ and live auction.
  • Alcoholic beverages will also be available all evening and will be charged to your bid number.
    • $2 per drink or
    • 3 drinks for $5

 

 

Silent Auction – Narthex Sunday, April 2 – Saturday, April 22 (closes at 7:30pm)

 

  • These items are events and services you can partake of for the entire year!
  • Bid sheets are posted on narthex walls.
  • Record your bid number and amount on the bid sheet.
  • Be sure to increase your bid by at least $1 – the more the merrier!
  • Check back frequently… Don’t let someone else out bid you!
  • When rebidding, please cross out your previous bid.
  • Remember, except for a minimal outlay for expenses, all monies go back to the church.

 

Raffles – Sunday mornings, April 9 & 16, Saturday evening April 22

  • This is a great way to get a gift certificate to a local establishment for a small investment.
  • Raffle tickets are $3 each, 2/$5, or 5/$10 and will be charged to your bid number.
  • Write your name and phone number on the back of one half of the ticket and drop into the jars of your choice.
  • Buy lots and lots of tickets!
  • Winners will be announced at the auction.
  • You do not have to be present to win. You have an excellent chance of winning!

 

Silent Auction – Goods – Saturday, April 22, 5:00 – 7:30pm

  • These are special items that have been donated by your UUCSV friends and are located on tables with their bid sheets in the back of the sanctuary.
  • As above, bid often and high, take risks, don’t let someone else outbid you, cross out your previous bid when rebidding. Bid high, higher, highest!
  • Take your winning items home with you Saturday night.
  • Remember, except for a minimal outlay for expenses, all monies go back to the church.

 

Live Auction – Sanctuary, Saturday, April 22, 6:30pm – the end

  • The live auction is our main event, very entertaining and raises the most money!
  • Our auctioneer manages the bidding.
  • You will find social activities, services, and fun goods that you can’t live without!
  • Make sure you have your bid card.
  • Help the auctioneer and assistants by holding your card up high until tallying is complete.
  • As above, bid often and high, take risks, don’t let someone else outbid you. Bid high, higher, highest!
  • Remember, except for a minimal outlay for expenses, all monies go back to the church.

 

 

Check Out – Saturday, April 22

  • Please check out in the library before leaving for the evening.
  • You will receive a list of the items you have won; please check it over carefully before paying.
  • You may pay by check or cash (preferred) or with a credit card.
  • Return your bid cards to the registration table.
  • Take any goods you won with you.
  • Save your auction booklet all year or at least until all events and services you have also won have been redeemed!

 

By the end of April

  • Within the week, results of the auction should be posted on the UUCSV website.
  • If you won an item to be redeemed at a later time, please contact the donor by email or by phone to remind them you won their item.
  • If you donated a service or event, please touch base with the winners to remind them of the date and when you will be contact them about specifics.
  • Neither the church nor the auction committee is responsible for the tasks in the last two bullets!

 

Between now and next year’s auction:

  • Enjoy your new winnings – whether they be items, services, or social events.
  • Get to know other UUCSVers better!
  • Take photos of your event and post on UUCSV’s closed Facebook site.
  • Think about how you will participate in 2017.
