August 27, 2017 “Kindness Made Audible” by Sandra Snodgrass. The message will be about the Threshold Choir International, an organization with chapters located throughout the world. The mission of this organization is to sing for and with people at the thresholds of life. In other words, to sing for those facing death, grief, and suffering. When invited, we send 2-4 of our members to sing with gentle voices and simple songs at the bedsides of those at life’s thresholds.
The Shenandoah Valley Threshold Singers chapter started in the fall of 2017, and Sandra is the current director. They meet for rehearsals twice a month in Stephens City, and sing at bedsides when called upon. She also teaches piano and voice lessons at Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy, working with the choirs there, and also leads a choir for homeschoolers in middle and high school. She is also a caregiver/provider for individuals with special needs with Wall Residences.
