Our Symbol: The Flaming Chalice

The Unitarian Universalist Church of the Shenandoah Valley uses a flaming chalice as a primary symbol. This is a symbol of Unitarian Universalist faith tradition. There are several versions of the chalice. Our congregation kindles a flame in gatherings and worship services.

Unitarian Universalists have many different interpretations of the flaming chalice, including the light of reason, the warmth of community, and the flame of hope.
