Sanctuary Aesthetics and Adornments

Our sanctuary benefits from the generosity and talent of the congregation in several ways:

  • Paper scrolls with appropriate quotes hang at the front of the Sanctuary. These are hand lettered by one of our talented long-time members. There are more than a dozen different scrolls that are changed as appropriate for the season or event.
  • Floral / natural arrangements that accompany the Chalice at the front of the Sanctuary. Generous and talented members bring fresh arrangements each Sunday for the in-person services.
  • On the Sanctuary walls, there are at least two different types of adornments:
    • Chalice Quilters Art. These are a changing collection of quilts made by members. Each collection has a theme. Examples are: World’s Religions, the Seven Unitarian Universalist Principles, Seasons of the Year, Favorite Hymns.
    • Art by members. Once or twice a year, the church Aesthetics Team organizes a collection of art by members and friends of the Church.
