Rev. Henry Ticknor was the first called minister to serve the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Shenandoah Valley. He served as this congregation’s minister from 2003 until his retirement in 2010. His tenure included the move from our previous church building to our present site and the challenges of moving from a small congregation to a larger and more active membership.
In December, 2016, the congregation voted to name Rev. Ticknor Minister Emeritus in recognition of his service to this church and the greater community.
Henry spent 32 years in elementary and secondary education before earning his M.Div. degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
He and his wife Nancy live in Winchester. They have two adult daughters living in Northern Virginia.
