“What is Church?”
Lori A. Crockett,  M. Ed

The question of what a church is, and more specifically, what our UU church is, will be explored during our Sunday, December 10 service. We will be asked to examine our own definitions of church, to ask ourselves what the word “church” means to us, what we want and expect out of our church, and whether or not we need to change our current, personal definitions. It is apparent that cultural attitudes and opinions on the idea of church have changed over the years for most of us. This discussion will start us thinking about what we want and need from our church heading into the future.  Lori Crockett

Lori Crockett is a member of this church and serves as a co-chair on the Worship Committee. She is a retired High School English teacher who graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1992 with a Master’s in Education and with University Honors. Most of the time she is either immersed in a good book or in an online class, or working in her garden.
